just wondering if you heard back from Caroline Lucas re: the Dorries/Field amendment. I see that Lucas spoke at this demo, so i’m guessing she’s a bit behind the times on this one http://www.socialistworker.co.uk/art.php?id=25377 any news?
My guess is that Lucas will be opposing the Dorries/Field amendment. Apropos the demo, I think Lucas’ presence at an event which not only personalised objection to the amendment in a distasteful way but zero’d in on the female sponsor of the amendment – why not Field as got to go? – demonstrated a want of judgement.
At the same time, I would rather that Dorries ceased describing her opponents in blanket terms as leftwingers and socialists. There will be Labour MPs backing her amendment, after all. Not only that but important issues like like abortion have got to be taken the hell out of party politics.
